Some Post-Graduation Advice

College graduation is closing in sooner than you might expect and all these crazy thoughts are circling your brain. You definitely can feel the excitement factor of not having to go to anymore pointless classes and sit through them while you are daydreaming about everything besides the subject’s content. At the same time you undergo that unsettling nervousness of not knowing what the hell you are going to do when you actually do finish school.

Most students worry too much about finding a career immediately after school commences rather than living up your last days as students. Usually many college grads would say that college was the best time of their life, and wish they were still there. However, that is not going to happen, so why live in the past? Instead of getting into a career right away, put off the real world a little longer, set some goals, save some money and/or travel.

When you get out of school you will not be making much money, and probably starting off at an entry level position. Take advantage of that however and eat up the experience you will be getting. Even do another internship if the experience is worth it.
Post graduation is also the prime time to do as much traveling as possible, because once you settle into a job it is a lot harder to take time off to do so, which you may regret not doing later on.

The best advice I can give to a graduate is to gain as much experience as possible, have some fun doing it and I assure you that the money will come eventually. Find something you enjoy to do for less money now rather than a career that you can’t stand that pays more. Waking up in the morning and enjoying what you do is worth more than anything and you will find that out soon enough.
